Movement -Wise Beta Coaching Offer

Hi…. I’m Gina, of embodygrace.

I’ve been a bodyworker (shiatsu, to be exact) and movement ‘teacher’ for 20 years.

It’s my belief that while movement is essential for our health and well-being, it’s WAY more than exercise. It’s HOW we are as a body and embodied soul.

While most people would agree that movement is important, many struggle with staying consistent, or with doing movement practices that are effective, enjoyable and/or relevant to what they want from life.

I believe that an effective and even enjoyable movement practice is built upon three main foundations:

ONE: A deep and clear “why”.

Knowing WHY we want to move (more than, ‘because it’s good for us’) is essential to keeping us motivated in the face of it being so NOT easy to move, and to help determine what kinds of movement to engage in;

TWO: An excavation of the stories we have about movement and our bodies.

We inherit loads of perceptions, beliefs and ideas about what movement is (and isn’t), what our bodies are and aren’t capable of. These often unconscious stories can be helpful, or huge blocks to moving more and effectively.

THREE: A movement plan that is relevant and fluid and encompasses ALL of your life.

Relevant means a plan that takes into account where you are now, where you want to be 5, 10, 20 years from now, so that your movement, exercises, activities and ecosystem are supporting those intentions.

Fluid means a plan that can change and adapt as your body and life need!

Life happens, seasons happen, illness and injuries and energy levels happen.

None of this (except perhaps in extreme circumstances) needs to thwart your movement intentions!

Having a plan that accommodates wherever you are - rather than trying to pack your plan into your schedule - can serve and support whatever circumstances you find yourself in.

Encompassing ALL of your life means, with the idea that movement is everything our bodies are doing (and hint: it’s not all about effort), you can do all of life: home, work, service, transportation, fun, spirituality, even rest, through the movements of your body in ways that also serve your Movement Why.
