And the job of the future will be…

In the spirit of gathering, harvesting, making space, and other autumn themes…

… I've been encouraged by a sense of coalescence around my life, my practice and my reason for being here.

The skill sets and experience I've accumulated and absorbed for the last two to three decades are taking shape in a form of service that is making more and more sense right now.

For example, I recently viewed a webinar by Marjorie Wildcraft, author of "The Grow System: The Essential Guide to Modern Self-Sufficient Living - from Growing Food to Making Medicine."

As she was emphasizing (yet again! because I need to hear something at least a dozen times till I take action) that the health of our bodies depends on the health of the soil, Marjorie stated that:

"The primary job of the future will be 'soil farmer'..."

Because without earth that can support life, we really are in trouble.

It's not my intention to get preachy.

It's just that this message finally hit me in a deep way - enough to get busy with my husband building compost bins, and starting the process of building up the medium that can make all the difference between illness and health.

This statement has expanded for me, to include the concept that our bodies are also the soil.

They are an ecology unto themselves, interdependent with other ecologies, whether through food, or movement, or social interactions, or creative endeavors ... all of our human experience.

For me, to help re-build the soil, is to also help you re-build yours.

My mission: To transmute the concepts of 'food' and 'exercise' into the intimate relationships by which you come to know your self, your body and its needs first-hand.

Whew! Well, I don't know what was in that last batch of herbal tea I drank...

But, seriously.

Amidst 'all this', these are very exciting times.

If you are also feeling called to be a 'soil farmer'... in whatever form that takes, I hope you'll stick with me.

Let's learn together!
